e-tic tickets

The ticket that recharges

October 2024, ASF promotes e-TIC the “Chip On Paper” of Como’s Electronic Ticketing System, allows people to purchase single trip or carnet tickets of Como’s urban network and urban area, validate them on board buses on the electronic validators, (ECPs near the driver and green VPEs) and reload the same ticket at the self-service ticket machine and ASF authorized retail outlets, at the list price.

The renewal plan of all ASF’s ticketing systems continues: thanks to the introduction of the new e-TICs on which it is possible to load at no additional cost and countless times, the desired travel tickets. In fact, to enable ASF customers to always find a solution for purchasing and reloading their Travel Titles, the self-service issuer (TVM) of electronic travel tickets was activated on August 19, 2024, c/o the Matteotti Square bus station. The TVM will enable self-service purchase and/or reloading of e-TICs with occasional tickets: Urban Network Simple Run lasting 75min. or Urban Area lasting 90min. from on-board validation.

The layout or graphics of the e-TICs do not change, it is always the same for both the simple run and 10+1 carnet title.

Currently, the travel tickets that can be purchased or reloaded on the e-TIC are ASF’s occasional tickets, which are listed below for simplicity:

Urban titles:

  • Urban Network 75 minutes………€ 1,50
  • Urban Area 90 minutes………….€ 2,00
  • Urban Network Daily…………….€ 3.50
  • Carnet 10+1 of Rete Urbana………….€ 15.00
  • Urban Area Carnet 10+1………….€ 20.00
  • International Como Chiasso………….€2,00

Suburban Titles:

  • One day………….€11,50

What can I purchase or reload into an e-TIC ticket?

Only one type of Travel Ticket can be loaded into each e-TIC.

  • For Simple Run tickets, a maximum of 10 trips can be loaded onto one medium;
  • For Simple Stroke carnets, a maximum of 2 carnets can be loaded onto a holder, for a total of 22 trips, 2 of which are complimentary;

Refillable tickets, e-TIC based on chip-on-paper electronic technology, are a sustainable solution for urban mobility. Upon boarding, tickets must be validated by approaching the green validators (VPE) or at the issuing station next to the driver (PCE). If valid, the tickets will confirm validation with a “Have a good trip” message and a green light indication, thus promoting a smart and eco-friendly travel experience. Otherwise, a red message will appear, signaling the invalidity of the title.

What is the e-tic?

e-TIC the electronic ticket, or “chip on paper,” is a paper carrier with a special electronic chip designed to hold and reload tickets for your city rides.

How does the e-ticket work?

Purchase:

Buy e-TIC the electronic ticket or “chip on paper” at the TVM in Como Bus Station in P.zza Matteotti from mid-October also available at the first 20 authorized ASF outlets in Como.

Warning. Do not throw it away, at the end of the trip you can recharge it always at TVM, or as soon as they are activated at the resellers in the Como urban area.

The ticket must be shown to the ticket inspector for the duration of the trip

Travel:

Once on board the bus, bring the electronic ticket closer to the green ticket reader (VPE) to validate the ticket…

Wait for the beep and the green screen, which confirm that the electronic ticket has been validated correctly… and enjoy the ride!

Remember, at every bus change the e-TIC ticket must be validated!

In the validity period (75min. for urban network or 90min. for urban area) from validation, there will be no additional charge.

Where can I purchase or charge e-TIC tickets?

The first self-service Ticket Office to buy or reload e-TIC tickets is in operation c/o the bus station in Matteotti Square in Como.

You can also purchase or top up your e·TIC at authorized retailers

Do you travel with other people?

There are two options:

1) purchase a carnet and validate it multiple times (one validation per person)

2) each person in your group will need to purchase his/her own chip-on-paper ticket and load the necessary tickets onto it.

Problems with eTic tickets?

If the ticket is actually unusable, it will be possible to start the available complaint procedure

The report must be accompanied by the following information:

  • legible photograph of the damaged media, front and back;
  • serial number of the rechargeable ticket;
  • place of last purchase;
