Travel Standards
It is incumbent upon travelers to strictly abide by the following regulations issued for the safety and regularity of the service.
Getting on and off buses
- Boarding and alighting from buses are only allowed at authorized stops located along the routes of the lines.
- If the stop is on demand, travelers must signal their intention to board or disembark the bus in good time: for boarding by being present at the stops, for disembarking by using the appropriate stop signs.
- Entrance is permitted, unless otherwise indicated, only through the front door.
- No passengers are allowed to board the bus if the maximum total number of passengers stipulated in the vehicle registration card has already been reached.
Travel documents
- Travelers must be in possession of a valid ticket or document certifying admission to free movement on board buses, in accordance with current regulations.
- The travel document must be validated as soon as boarding in the manner prescribed for each document. In case of malfunction or failure of the stamping machine, the traveler is required to give immediate notice to the driver by presenting the travel document at the same time.
- Passengers holding a season ticket or free circulation card must show their travel document to the driver when boarding the bus.
- Season tickets are valid only in conjunction with an identification card, the number of which must be entered on the season ticket by the traveler. Those traveling without a physical identification card, or with an expired identification card will incur a penalty.
- Annual school passes for urban or suburban network, issued online or c/o company ticket offices, are valid on ASF lines to reach School Institutes in the province of Como.
- The travel document, having the value of a receipt, must be kept intact and recognizable throughout its validity.
- The traveler is required to show the ticket (in the case of payment by card see the following link) at any check carried out by Carrier personnel, in uniform or plainclothes, carrying regular identification.
- Reimbursement of unused tickets is allowed in the manner defined by the Region and the entrusting Public Entities.
- The transfer of named tickets and, after the start of travel, the transfer of unnamed tickets is prohibited.
Transport of children
- Children up to 110 cm.110 in height can travel free of charge when accompanied by an adult with a travel document.
- Non-paying children are not allowed to occupy seats and must be held in the lap.
- Strollers and baby carriages are allowed to be carried free of charge as long as they are folded up so as not to harm other travelers or obstruct passage.
- It is permitted to carry baby strollers or baby carriages, even unfolded, only on buses equipped with a wheelchair seat, within the area reserved for them. The stroller must be folded in case of crowding or boarding of a disabled person in a wheelchair.
- During the trip, the stroller must be braked and constantly held by the carer to avoid shifting or falling in case of sudden braking.
Transport of pets
- Any traveler with a travel document may bring along a small dog equipped with a leash and muzzle or another pet, provided it is carried inside a special cage, always upon purchase of a ticket at the current fare.
- During transport, the animal must be kept on a leash, in the arms of the person accompanying it (never on the seats), so as not to obstruct the platform, aisle or doors, and must not cause a disturbance to travelers: if this happens, the animal will be removed from the bus without the traveler being entitled to a ticket refund for it.
- It is the companion’s responsibility to prevent the animal from climbing on the seats, soiling or deteriorating the car or causing damage to travelers. Where this happens, the companion is liable to pay compensation for any damage. Transportation of animals, excluding guide dogs, may be refused if the bus is crowded.
- Guide dogs for the blind are allowed to travel free of charge unless the blind person is assisted by a companion with free travel.
Transportation of goods
- Each traveler may carry one piece of luggage free of charge as long as the size does not exceed 50x30x25 cm. For any additional baggage, and for any baggage exceeding the above dimensions, a corresponding ticket must be purchased at the current fare.
- Folding bicycles and scooters are allowed under the following conditions:
– The vehicle must be folded
– A maximum of 1 vehicle per passenger and 2 vehicles per car are allowed
– The vehicle must be placed in the space reserved for the disabled
– The vehicle may not be allowed on board if the car is crowded or if there is a disabled person or strollers on board
– Passenger takes upon himself/herself all responsibility for damage to persons or property resulting from transporting the vehicle - Loss and damage to travelers’ luggage are subject to corporate liability if determined by causes attributable to the carrier; in any case, compensation for damages may not exceed the limits provided for in Article 2 of Law No. 450 of August 22, 1985.
- Travelers carrying luggage, packages or parcels that are not stowed in the proper luggage compartment are responsible for their safekeeping and for any damage they may cause to property and/or persons. Luggage must be kept in a position that does not obstruct the passage of travelers, as well as safeguard their safety.
- Baggage containing dangerous and harmful goods, as well as flammable material, is excluded from transportation.
Duties of the traveler
According to the aforementioned Decree of December 30, 1998, the traveling citizen has the following duties to fulfill:
- Do not board transportation without a valid ticket;
- not occupy more than one seat and, without being entitled to do so, reserved seats and seats reserved for amputees and the disabled;
- Do not damage or soil the vehicles and infrastructure;
- Respect the ban on smoking;
- Do not board while intoxicated or after using drugs or other substances assimilated to them;
- Do not engage in behaviors that cause disturbance to other people;
- Not to transport things and/or animals without complying with the limitations/indications established by the Company;
- Do not throw objects out of the window;
- Do not use warning signs or any other emergency device except in case of serious and imminent danger;
- Not engage in trade or advertising activities without the prior consent of the carrier;
- Diligently comply with all requirements and formalities related to security checks;
- Scrupulously follow the instructions and instructions given by the carrier and the instructions received from the operators (driving and/or control personnel);
- use the means of transportation and infrastructure by punctually following the predetermined rules-along with those of civilized living-not compromising in any way the safety of travel and service levels for himself and all those traveling.
Requirements for the safety of travelers
Buses are approved to carry a certain number of people, part of which is seated and part of which is standing room.
Travelers are required to observe the following regulations, which are placed for the protection of their safety and security:
- occupy all seats as long as there is availability and remain seated for the duration of the trip, until the vehicle has stopped. In the event that seat belts are present in the occupied seat, the passenger is required to fasten them.
- Travel standing only along sections for which seating is not available, holding on to grab handles, supports and handrails.
- To watch over the safety and security of people, animals, and things that remain in their custody.
- The carrier accepts no responsibility for accidents suffered by travelers who have not complied with the above requirements.
- The traveler must comply with all other warnings and instructions issued by company personnel for the safety and regularity of the service.
- Obligation to disclaim personal information
- The traveler is required to decline and document his or her personal details to the company’s supervisory personnel, in plainclothes or uniform, with proper identification.
- In the performance of their duties, supervisory workers are protected by the rules, including criminal law, provided for public officials and public service officers.
Schedules and connections
Schedules displayed to the public may be subject to change due to service requirements, fortuitous event or force majeure.
The carrier accepts no responsibility for the consequences of delays, missed connections and any other event beyond its control.
